Halal Ramen in Tokyo (2026): 4 Chains Verified on Official Sites, Prayer Space & Prices
Checked 2026-10-28 · Updated 2026-10-28
Checked 27 Oct 2026. Everything below comes only from the official pages of the restaurant, its operator or the certifying body; blogs and booking sites were not used as evidence. Where an official page doesn't say something, we write "not listed on the official site". I read the label; you decide.
Short answer. In Tokyo, only 4 halal ramen chains could be verified on official pages: SHINJUKU-TEI, GYUMON, Honolu and Shunpudou. None of them says on its official pages that its owner is Muslim. Only Honolu names a certifying body (JIT, Japan Islamic Trust), and that certificate covers Honolu's soup and noodles as products, not the shops; it is valid until 12 Nov 2027. The others say "halal certified" or "halal ingredients" without naming a body. Checked 27 October 2026.

2. Shop by shop
SHINJUKU-TEI. The only chain that writes about prayer: its Halal Policy states a wudu area and prayer space at every branch, and Muslim staff at each location. It says "recognized Halal certification standards" but doesn't name the body. It is also the only one that publishes prices, all "+tax".
GYUMON. The group page says its ingredients, seasonings and cooking methods are "fully Halal certified", with guidance from certification authorities; no body is named. It mentions "Japanese and Muslim chefs and staff", but says nothing about whether the owner is Muslim. GYUMON is the only one that gives walking minutes from the station, and its Shinjuku branch is open until 23:30.
Honolu. The only one with a named body: JIT (Japan Islamic Trust) certifies its soup powder, soup ingredients and noodles, status Active until 12 Nov 2027. That is a product certificate; the operator says all shops have been certified since 2020 but names no body for the shops. Prices and prayer space are not listed on the official site.
Shunpudou. One branch in Asakusa, open daily 11:00–22:00. The official site says "Halal-certified ingredients" and no alcohol; the menu lists halal soy sauce and halal chicken chashu. It doesn't claim the shop itself is certified, and prices are not listed.
3. 4 traps before you eat
- Honolu's certificate covers soup and noodles, not the shop. The JIT certificate (Ref. CIII-0151) lists products: soup powder, soup ingredients and noodles. It says nothing about the kitchen or the shop.
- "Halal certified" with no body named. SHINJUKU-TEI and GYUMON write about certification but name no body. At the counter, ask: "Which organisation certifies this shop?" For reference, the Japan Halal Association's list of certified companies (32 companies) has no restaurants at all (checked 27 Oct 2026).
- Prices exclude tax. SHINJUKU-TEI prices are "+tax"; add 10% for dine-in. Chicken Pai-tan [S] ¥1,500 becomes ¥1,650 (≈ RM43, rate of 27 Oct 2026).
- Shops on old lists that can't be verified. Naritaya, Ayam-YA, Ouka and Kaenzan keep appearing on blogs, but we couldn't verify them on an official page. Secondary sources report Ouka closed. Details below.
4. Not listed (could not be verified on an official page, 27 Oct 2026)
- Naritaya (Asakusa): the site described as official doesn't open (blocked, 403). Secondary sources disagree on the certifying body, and one lists it as uncertified with pork and alcohol.
- Halal Ramen Ouka (Shinjuku-gyoemmae): no official site; secondary sources say "Permanently Closed".
- Ayam-YA (Shin-Okachimachi): no official site found, and secondary sources name different certifying bodies.
- Kaenzan Lanzhou Ramen (Ikebukuro): no official site found; what is said about its owner comes only from secondary sources.
- Honolu Premier Yoyogi-koen: the operator's news announced an opening on 8 Aug 2025, but the branch is not on the operator's current shop list (19 shops).
