What it means for you.
- Flying into or out of Tokyo on 20–21 September: delays and cancellations are likely, especially Monday 21 morning to afternoon. Check your flight status the night before in the airline app; if a typhoon waiver lets you change dates free, use it. Get to the airport early, and don't connect to a domestic flight with less than 3 hours.
- Shinkansen and trains: the Tokaido line may slow or stop if winds exceed limits; the same day is also a Silver Week return day (Wednesday 23 is busier). If you can, move Tokyo ⇄ Osaka on the morning of the 20th or from the 22nd. The Nozomi is still 100% reserved until 23 September ([explainer](/news-nozomi-all-reserved-silver-week/)).
- Izu and Ogasawara islands: ferries are cancelled; don't plan island trips until 23 September.
- From 22 September Kanto weather recovers. This is the second typhoon this month after No. 24 Krovanh ([what happened](/news-typhoon-24-krovanh/)); September is the peak typhoon month, see [weather by month](/japan-weather-by-month/) to plan.
