Osaka Hotels for Muslim Families: Qibla in Every Room, a Certified Halal Breakfast, and December Prices
Checked 2026-10-11
Each hotel's Muslim services below are from its own official page (or its operator's), checked 9–11 October 2026. Prices are from Trip.com on 11 October 2026 for 7–11 December, 1 room, 2 adults + 2 kids (8 and 5). Claims that appear only on booking sites or in old press releases are listed separately, not in the table.
Short answer. Only 3 Osaka hotels we checked say on their own official page today what they offer Muslim guests. Hotel Nikko Kansai Airport has a qibla in every one of its 576 rooms and lends prayer mats. Hotel Vischio Osaka (Umeda) serves a halal breakfast box from a kitchen certified by the Japan Islamic Cultural Center — but it's sold as a set with the buffet, ¥4,500 per person with no child price, and you must book 3 weeks ahead. Hotel Nikko Osaka (Shinsaibashi) has a Muslim-friendly menu with halal-certified meat, but says it is not certified and the kitchen is shared. On Trip.com for 7–11 December, these rooms cost RM239–789 a night; three other hotels often called "Muslim-friendly" were full for 2 adults + 2 kids on those dates.

Also announced, but not on the current menu
Sheraton Miyako Hotel Osaka (Uehommachi, directly connected to Kintetsu Osaka-Uehommachi Station) announced in a May 2024 press release that from 1 June 2024 its Japanese restaurant Uemachi and eu would serve Muslim-friendly dishes with menu certification from the Japan Muslim Association (the menu, not the whole restaurant): a halal Japanese bento at ¥12,000 (≈ RM310) per person, booked 5 days ahead, and soup curry, lamb soup or spiced rice at ¥3,600 each. Today's menu pages on the hotel site don't list these dishes, and no prayer items are mentioned. Ask the hotel before you count on it. On Trip.com it was full for 2 adults + 2 kids on 7–11 December.
2. Where to pray near each area
From the station's, mall's and airport's official pages, checked 28–29 September 2026.
- KIX Terminal 1, 3F: 24 hours, separate rooms for men and women with ablution areas. There is also a prayer room in the international gate area (after security).
- JR Osaka Station (for Umeda): 1F South Gate Plaza, 11:00–18:00 (last registration 17:30). Free; fill in a form first at Osaka Station City Information (North Gate Building 3F); 20 minutes at most.
- Namba CITY (for Namba / Shinsaibashi): Main Building B1F. Requests 11:30–20:00 at the information counter on B2F.

3. Traps
- "¥4,500 halal breakfast" is per person, every person. Vischio has no child price: a family of 4 pays ¥18,000 (≈ RM465) per morning. The buffet next to your halal box also serves dishes with pork or alcohol seasoning — ask the staff.
- 3 weeks' notice. Vischio's halal breakfast must be booked at least 3 weeks ahead — for 7 December, that's by 16 November.
- "Muslim-friendly" isn't "certified". Hotel Nikko Osaka says so itself: certified meat, but a shared kitchen and no certification.
- What booking sites say may not be on the hotel's site. We couldn't find these on the hotels' own pages, so they're not in the table: qibla and prayer mats at Quintessa Hotel Osaka Shinsaibashi (a 2020 press release only), a prayer space at Swissôtel Nankai Osaka (its site only lists halal restaurants nearby and halal options for banquets), a halal meal box at Richmond Hotel Namba Daikokucho (booking sites only), and qibla at Quintessa Hotel Osaka Bay (a 2020 release; the hotel reopened under a new name on 1 August 2026). Ask the hotel in writing before you book.
- 2 adults + 2 kids fills up first. For 7–11 December, Sheraton Miyako, Swissôtel Nankai and Richmond Namba Daikokucho had no room for 4 on Trip.com (11 October). Look early, or split into 2 rooms.
