1. Where to stay, and for how much?
Rooms for four are rare in Japan; an "apartment hotel" near a station is usually the best value for a family.

Tip: December prices rise fast. Filter for free cancellation so you can move a night if your dates change. Kyushu hotels: from 1 October there is a 50–60% government discount, but only through Japanese booking sites or directly with the hotel, not Trip.com.
2. Where to eat halal?
Japan has no JAKIM, and 7-Eleven, FamilyMart and Lawson hold no halal certification. We list restaurants by area, each with its status as the source states it (certified / halal meat / Muslim-friendly menu):
- Osaka (Namba, Dotonbori): 10 places
